Welcome to the February 15th, 2021 Edition of Lingerie Sewing Round Up!

If you are new around here, the Lingerie Sewing Roundup is a curation of a few projects, tips and tutorials, and ongoing events in the lingerie sewing community. These posts will encompass swimwear sewing and activewear sewing as well. It’s a quick catch up up for you to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. The roundup is posted twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of every month.

If you want to be part of the lingerie sewing roundup, shoot me an email at thetailormadeblog[@]gmail.com with links to your video, blog post, or just photos if you don’t have a blog and I’ll be sure to include your work!

News & Events

We have a slew of pattern releases recently. It’s a good mix of sportswear, lingerie, and swim patterns:

New Sportswear Pattern: Dani Strappy Sports Bra

As per the pattern company:

Dani is an intermediate-level, low impact sports bra with a fun back! The front is lined with optional removable or fixed cups. It also includes both SBA and FBA pieces for a beautiful fit. The back has 3 criss-cross straps and a straight strap across the top. The center back is lined and curves down. Choose from an exposed elastic band or enclosed elastic band. Choose thicker exposed elastic for a longer or shorter bra.

You can purchase the Dani Strappy Sports Bra Pattern here.

There is a video tutorial on constructing the Dani Strappy Sports Bra. Also, I have to mention that I am really loving the trend of releasing patterns with video tutorials!

New Underwear Pattern: Mungata Undies

The Mungata Undies Pattern is Garala Studio’s second ever pattern release. As per the pattern designer:

The Mungata Undies are low rise, with a seamless detail at the hip to add different fabric or trims. The crotch gusset has fully enclosed seams and the coverage at the back is a bit cheeky. This pattern is drafted for 4-way stretch fabrics.

The diagonal style line is quite fun and can lend to interesting colorblocking/fabric mixing experiments. The pattern is available in English and Spanish.

You can purchase the Mungata Undies Pattern in English here.

New Bralette & Underwear Pattern: Ilana Lingerie Set

The Ilana Lingerie Set is a new free* pattern release by Mood Fabrics. As per Mood Fabrics:

The Ilana Lingerie Set features a simple bralette and panty, made best in comfy knits like velour or bamboo jersey!

New Bra Pattern: Willow Bralet

The Willow Bralet is Pitt Trading’s second lingerie pattern release. As per the company:

The Willow bralet is suitable for an A, B or C cup, with a self measured under bust band. Made for use with scallop edge galloon lace for a feminine look

This is a free pattern and you can get the Willow Bralet Pattern here.

New Bralette & Underwear Pattern: Adaline Lingerie Set

The Adaline Bralette and Underwear Lingerie Set Pattern is by Mon BlaBla de Fille and is available through the Makerist France website here.

Please note the pattern is in French.

New Underwear Pattern: Espoir

The Espoir Undies are a new underwear pattern by Etoffe Malicieuse. This pattern is technically free, but you have the option of naming your price.

Please note that the pattern is in French.

You can get the Espoir Patttern here.

New Swim Pattern: Sun Bikini Bottoms

And finally, we have a handful of swim pattern releases from Bikini Design Club. First up are the Sun Bikini Bottoms. As per the pattern company:

Bikini bottom pattern Sun has a V shape front and back and it sits mid waist. It includes 2 back options. Cheeky or teeny, you choose. The center back seam on the back makes it fit perfectly.

The cheeky option was designed so you can have side straps in different color fabric or even improvise side bow straps. The teeny is a one piece so the fabric is all the same and no side straps.

You can purchase the Sun Bikini Bottoms Pattern here.

There is a video tutorial on sewing the Sun Bikini Bottoms here.

New Swim Pattern: Mistral Swimsuit

The Mistral Swimsuit is a twist front swimsuit pattern by Bikini Design Club. As per the pattern company:

The amazing twist front twist front gives this swimsuit a cool and original look.

This pattern includes 2 different back coverages: medium coverage and cheeky coverage in which the medium coverage is also lower on the hip by 2 cm.

You can purchase the Mistral Swimsuit Pattern here.

There are several video tutorials on sewing the Mistral Swimsuit pattern and I’ve listed them all below:

New Swim Pattern: Moon Swimsuit

Bikini Design Club has a second onepiece swimsuit pattern release in the form of the Moon Swimsuit. As per the pattern company:

Swimsuit pattern Moon is simultaneously cheeky and still has amazing coverage.

The high front hip is hidden by the front bow and your are then surprised by the moderate coverage of the back.

The crossed back straps are amazingly comfortable and the usual center back seam makes the back bottom fit perfectly. To get the perfect fit and because we have a front bow, this pattern is non reversible.
