What I Made: Not So Basic Black Frankie Panties

Evie la Luve Frankie Panties in Black Mesh Lace Trim Handmade Underwear DIY Sewing

Hi guys! I’m back today with…*drum rolls*

More underwear! Apparently it’s the year of the underwear for me.

At this point, I’ve sewn enough bras for myself that I can go without doing laundry for a month and I would still have clean bras to wear. (Not that I’m suggesting that you don’t do laundry for a month). This year, I’ve pretty much decided to stop buying underwear and overhaul my panties drawer by making my own.

I figured that I need more black panties (seriously everyone always needs more black panties–they are great basics!), so I whipped up two pairs of Frankie Panties using the new black stretch mesh from my shop.

Frankie Panties in Art Gallery Prints

Evie la Luve Frankie Panties in Art Gallery Printed Knit Cotton Jersey Fabrics Handmade Underwear DIY Panties

Hi guys! The panties sewing addiction continues! This week, I bring you six pairs of Frankie Panties in Art Gallery Prints. I was first introduced to Art Gallery fabrics when Hannah posted a picture of a pair of Frankie Panties that she made in the Yinghua print. I did some some window shopping on fabric.com and ended up picking out three Art Gallery prints to work with.

When it comes to clothes, I’m really not a prints person. I honestly only like to wear solids and shades of gray. But when it comes to underwear, I can get a little out of control. Now that I have a panties pattern that I really love, I’m going all out with updating my panties drawer with some fun and gorgeous prints!

Here are the six pairs of Frankie Panties that I made using Art Gallery cotton jersey knits and the details on them!

(Note: Only half of the Frankie Panties shown are in my size (XS). The other half are in XXS and are a gift for a friend’s upcoming birthday!)

Lingerie Sewing: Weekend Roundup

Lingerie Sewing Weekend Round Up

From this week:

I made two pairs of Cloth Habit’s Lady Shorts here. I also made a Navy Charmeuse Marlborough Bra using one of the newly added charmeuse kits from my shop.

Yiling of @theyilingcrafts had a busy lingerie making week! She made a hot pink Jasmine Bra using a Tailor Made Shop kit. She also made two Marlborough Bras, two pairs of Montgomery Briefs, and one pair of Bella Panties. You can view them here. Last, but not least is this lovely longline floral print bralette she made. You can view the bralette here.

Novita of Very Purple Person made a super fun Merckwaerdigh BHS10 Bralette in View C using a neon pink lace with contrast black elastics. You can view the project here.

Corri of @corri_sheff sewed up a bunch of Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 Bralettes in View B. Check them out here and here. She even made matching panties for the hot pink/gold set!

Isabella of @isabellamud also made a couple of Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 Bralettes in View B using lace from Tailor Made Shop. Check them out here and here. She even made matching panties using the Ohhh Lulu Sews Lace Panties pattern.

Isabelle of @besabelle made this gorgeous Watson Bra using our (sold-out) blossom orange ombre lace! View the project here.

Hannah of Evie la Luve just released The Lingerie Makers Project Book! The book has enough room for 15 lingerie sewing projects and other helpful lingerie sewing information. The first 10 people who buy it will receive inside a code for 15% off her shop.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 Bralette w/ Adjustable Straps & Evie La Luve Bella Panties

Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 View B Bralette in Lilac Yellow Evie la Luve Bella Panties Tailor Made Shop

Hi guys, today I have a yellow/lilac bralette and underwear set.

Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 View B Bralette in Lilac Yellow Evie la Luve Bella Panties Tailor Made Shop

The bralette pattern is Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 and instead of making View B with the racerback, I opted for adjustable straps. The underwear pattern is Evie la Luve’s Bella Panties.

I’ve made a couple of the Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 Bralette Pattern in both Views A and B as gifts and the general feedback is that the straps run on the shorter side. To solve this problem, I made View B with adjustable straps. Have you made the Madalynne x Simplicity 8228 Pattern? Were the straps short for you?

Hi guys, today I have a pattern review. I’ve been admiring Evie la Lùve’s patterns for a while: they’re modern and chic and designed by someone who has a great eye for fashion. I love how she sews up colorful and fun samples of her patterns and showcases them. You can find her work here.

I purchased the Bella Knickers PDF sewing pattern and made a few pairs last week.
