Floral Noelle Swimwear Panty Bottom Tailor Made Shop

Guys, I made swimwear! Well, I just made the bottom (because I couldn’t decide which of my bra patterns I want to use for the top), but I’ve finally forayed into swimwear sewing!

The elastic application turned out a bit wavy at the leg openings but I’m sure it will be less so after pressing.

How about you? Have you sewn swimwear yet? Do you have plans to do so? Share in the comments below!

Swimwear bottoms were so intimidating! But once I took the plunge (haha) it turned out they were totally manageable. I made a black high-waisted bikini this summer that I’ve worn to the beach a couple time. Fits so much better than RTW.

Hahah! It’s pretty addicting once you get started. Have you tried bra making first before diving into swimwear or vice versa?

I always have the same issue with the wavy edges on bottoms! The only method I have found to fix it is not stretching the elastic…at all! Which is tricky because a lot of sewing patterns call for stretching. But when I look at all my store bought pieces…they don’t ripple a bit! Please share if you find a better method!

I only stretch slightly for the front curves and I pull a little as per Beverly Johnson’s instructions in her swimwear class on Craftsy. I think pressing will help with the waviness, but I haven’t yet had the chance to take an iron to these bottoms yet. I’ll report back once I do so! 🙂
