Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I can’t believe the year is already drawing to a close…!
Today’s set is actually a Christmas present to myself. This lace is one of my favorites in my personal stash. I’ve hoarded it away for over two years, because I couldn’t find a stretch lining color that was a good match or a good complement for the unique lace color.
Recently, I came across a rosy pink stretch mesh that looks amazing with the lace so I finally cut into it.
Also my gift to you all…take 15% off your purchase with promo code BYE2016. This is the biggest sale of the year! Enjoy! You can use the promo code on www.tailormadeshop.com and on Etsy. The sale will run through Saturday December 31st, 2016 11:59PM EST. The promo code excludes Gift Cards.
Thank you all for an amazing year and I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
Hi guys, quick update today. This aqua set features the Madalynne 8229 Underwire Bra with vertical seams and Evie La Luve’s Bella Panties. Since I’ve made them before, there’s not much to say about them. I just wanted to share photos of them in case people are curious about how this lace looks made up.
Happy December guys! I’ve assembled a Holiday Gift Guide for those of us who are looking for gifts for fellow lingerie sewists or aspiring lingerie makers. This is a curated list of five items that will function as practical gifts.
1. 505 Adhesive Spray – This is a must in every lingerie sewist’s arsenal. The spray adhesive will help you tackle any tricky fabric you may encounter while sewing delicate lingerie. You can even use it to help you attach a bra hook and eye.
2. OLFA 28mm Rotary Cutter– Rotary cutters come in a variety of sizes. 18mm, 28mm, 45mm, etc. The 28mm is the perfect size for cutting into a variety of fabrics and the size is handy for getting into those pattern curves.
3. Gingher Duck Bill Scissors – These scissors have a multitude of functions: you can use them to grade a seam, trim a neckline, or reduce bulky seams. For lingerie sewing, you can use it for appliquéing and reducing bulk. The duck bill shape allows you to trim very closely to a seam.
4. Gingher 8 Inch Scissors– Yes you can do all of your lingerie cutting using a rotary cutter, but I love to do my cutting with fabric scissors. Even though lingerie pattern pieces are small and the fabrics are finicky, you can get very neat cutwork by following these tips and tricks. This pair of scissors cuts fabric like butter and is a good size and weight for most people.
I’m back today with my second iteration of the Edena Bralette. You can find the first iteration here.
For this version, I used a black non-stretch lace that I had in my stash and lined it with black bra tulle. I also used black satin elastic for the straps and the strappy detail. I opted to use a fun lavender picot elastic for contrast.
Some changes to the pattern: I increased the height of the neckline by 3/8″. I also increased the bottom band height by 3/8″ so the bralette now provides more coverage overall. I also added the extra strappy detail. Because it’s pretty much a known secret by now that I’m a sucker for strappy details.
I pretty much adore this bralette to death. I’ve made a third one and have a fourth one in the works right now.
